They 'remade' Wipeout with the Beach Boys and 'The Twist' with Chubby Checker.

Accomplishments: 

All came from Hollis, Queens.
First rappers to earn a gold album (with RUN-D.M.C. in 1984),
a platinum album (with King of Rock in 1985),
a multi-platinum album (with Raising Hell in 1986),
appear on "American Bandstand", appear on MTV, an endorsement contract from a sportswear manufacturer, to perform on Ivy League college campuses, to appear on the cover of "Rolling Stone" magazine, and the only rappers at Live Aid.
Fourth album was Tougher Than Leather, Fifth album was Back from Hell - 1990.
